School of piping and drumming
Black Raven Pipe Band is committed to keeping the arts of Piping and Drumming alive in the village of Lusk and
surrounding areas.
Beginner students aged 7 years and upwards are instructed on Bagpipes (Chanter), Snare Drum, Tenor Drum and Bass
Drum throughout the Black Raven School of Piping and Drumming. We are also in a position to instruct students who
are in their teenage years.
Our instructors have many years experience playing in the Black Raven and have achieved titles at All Ireland
and indeed World level. They have the enthusiasm and commitment to take their students to the top level in
piping and drumming. The aim of the Black Raven Pipe Band is to compete at the highest level whilst ensuring that
continue to teach as many local young pipers and drummers as we can.
Following the band’s performance at the recent Carol Service in Saint
Macullins Church and the fantastic reception
we received,we have had a
large number of enquiries regarding membership of the band.
It was the intention of the band to start a second round of classes for piping
and drumming later in the year. However,
due to the large number of people
requesting to learn to play in the band, it was decided to hold an information
and
enrolment evening at Lusk Parish Centre (Old School) on Wednesday 15th
January 2014 at 7.00pm.
Classes will commence on Wednesday the 22nd January 2014 from 7pm to 8pm.. Tuition will be given in Piping, Drumming
and Drum Majors.
